Band

The Pope John Paul II Band is designed to teach music through performance, to develop performance skills of the various wind and percussion instruments, to develop discrimination with the regards of the selection of music, to acquaint the students with Music Theory and Music History and how musical composition relates to students’ current life and musical experiences. Participation in rehearsals outside of school and in performances is required.

The PJP Jaguar Band has been through different incarnations, and in 2015 was reenstated as a permanent fixture in Pope John Paul II High School's curriculum and programming.

Choir

The Pope John Paul II choir teaches students vocal technique, choral literature, and sight reading. Students are also required to perform in concerts, mass, and to participate in rehearsals outside of school. In choir, as in band, students develop discrimination with the regards of the selection of music, to acquaint the students with Music Theory and Music History and how musical composition relates to students’ current life and musical experiences. Participation in rehearsals outside of school and in performances is required.

The PJP Choir was developed along with the founding of Pope John Paul II High School in 1980.
